Medical Transcriptionist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Accurately convert complex physician dictation into finalized medical reports for patient records.

• Utilize medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and English grammar rules in transcription and proofreading tasks.

• Adhere to quality, productivity, and turnaround-time expectations.

• Structure reports in compliance with predefined guidelines.

• Manage the transcription workstation and dictation management system effectively.

• Review and correct medical content, style, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting for precision.

• Detect and address verbal discrepancies and dictation mistakes by consulting with physicians or other professionals.

• Carry out additional responsibilities such as filing, answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, ordering supplies, sorting mail and faxes, and distributing materials.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or GED (Mandatory).

• Familiarity with anatomy and medical terminology.

• Proficiency in operating word processing and dictation equipment.

• Typing speed of 65 words per minute.

• Previous experience in medical transcription.

• Capability to transcribe dictation from diverse accents, dialects, and styles.

• Ability to fulfill quality, productivity, and turnaround-time benchmarks.
