This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Cultivate and strengthen relationships with both established and emerging external experts.
• Enhance AbbVie’s scientific reputation among external experts.
• Supply essential scientific and medical information to external experts and internal stakeholders upon request.
• Build and sustain scientific knowledge for credible information dissemination to external experts and healthcare professionals.
• Engage in and follow up on investigator-initiated studies, clinical studies, and medical projects pertinent to the relevant therapeutic area.
• Offer scientific support and maintain connections with external experts and academic institutions.
• Provide credible scientific presentations to healthcare professionals, both individually and in groups.
• Assist in the selection of qualified healthcare professionals for collaborative research and support for lectures/meetings.
• Ensure scientific and educational integrity in collaborative initiatives such as advisory boards, congresses, and symposiums.
• Attend pertinent scientific meetings and conferences, summarizing key data presented.
• Coordinate scientific and medical engagement efforts across stakeholders within accounts.
• Formulate interaction plans in line with the Scientific Interaction Plan to accomplish medical objectives.
• Implement data-driven strategies and business decisions to surpass in-field team goals.
• Communicate and collaborate with in-field team members to enhance business objectives.
• An advanced degree is required: Doctorate, PharmD, or MD.
• Relevant business experience with a solid understanding of the biotech/pharmaceutical sector.
• Previous experience as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is preferred.
• A background in Eye Care / Ophthalmology is considered an asset.
• Prior experience in a customer-facing role within the healthcare industry.
• Experience in presenting and/or interpreting scientific or clinical research publications.
• Knowledge of scientific methodologies applied to clinical research and current legislative/regulatory requirements.
• Strong interest in developing and maintaining expert knowledge in the assigned therapeutic area/product and medical research.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).
• Comfortable with technology and various tools/systems for daily tasks.
• Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and passport.
• Advanced knowledge of English / Fluency in English is a mandatory requirement.
