This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +3 more states.
• Identify, cultivate, and sustain collaborative relationships with both current and prospective Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and healthcare stakeholders in disease areas that hold strategic significance for Phathom.
• Deliver clinical presentations and relevant information in response to unsolicited inquiries (when appropriate) in academic, community, and healthcare provider environments, both in group settings and one-on-one interactions.
• Work alongside the Clinical organization to boost patient enrollment in Phathom-sponsored clinical trials by pinpointing suitable trial sites and engaging with investigators involved in ongoing studies.
• Serve as the primary contact for investigators interested in initiating and conducting investigator-led research.
• Formulate and implement territory plans that align with strategic regional and national action plans.
• Assist in market landscape assessments and competitive intelligence gathering, including therapeutic trends and unmet needs within the relevant disease states and marketplace. Provide timely feedback and information on emerging clinical and scientific developments to internal stakeholders.
• Regularly collect insights from KOLs, healthcare providers (HCPs), and clinical trial investigators, sharing this feedback with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Offer scientific support at medical congresses.
• Willingness to travel across a wide geographical area may be necessary.
• This role requires the ability to drive within a designated territory by car (and, in certain territories, to travel by airplane).
• An advanced degree in life sciences (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD, DNP, PA-C, MSN) is required.
• Previous or current involvement in a Medical Affairs Fellowship or Internship is preferred. Experience as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is also preferred.
• Strongly preferred is prior work experience in pharmaceutical medical affairs or as a healthcare provider.
• Experience in product launches is preferred.
• Therapeutic area expertise in gastrointestinal (GI) conditions is preferred.
• Familiarity with PhRMA, AGA, and other pertinent guidelines is essential.
• A solid understanding of the clinical development process and ICH-GCP guidelines is required.
• Proven capacity to maintain scientific credibility while also being commercially supportive.
