Medical Science Liaison

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish and nurture relationships with key decision makers in academic and community clinics, hospital systems, payor/managed care organizations, and other entities that influence or manage the utilization of screening products.

• Collaborate with clinical and payor partners to gain insight into their needs, knowledge gaps, challenges, and evidence requirements for clinical integration, reimbursement, and coverage.

• Create timely and strategic territory/account plans to meet customer requirements.

• Provide education and facilitate meaningful scientific discussions with clinicians regarding the clinical attributes of Freenome products.

• Inform managed care/payors about the clinical value of Freenome products and services to encourage plan inclusion and appropriate utilization.

• Offer support for on-site oral presentations, data reviews, and interactive education events for Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).

• Keep up-to-date with the latest scientific and clinical developments, market trends, and regulatory guidelines pertinent to our products, particularly regarding market access, clinical, IDN, and payor environments.

• Represent the company at industry conferences, meetings, and other events as a thought leader while building essential relationships.

• Assist in organizing forums and events for KOLs to discuss clinical challenges, unmet needs, and potential product enhancements.

• Identify trends that affect patient access to blood-based cancer screening.

• Critically assess new publications and research findings to aid in the development of educational slides, which are then submitted for approval to Medical Affairs and Marketing.

• Work collaboratively with Sales executives to identify and provide guidance on strategic partnership opportunities.

• Foster effective, compliant collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders.

• Ensure strategic and tactical alignment with commercial field-based teams to guarantee appropriate medical support.

• Build field medical territories in preparation for commercial launch.

• Identify investigator-initiated study proposals that align with Freenome SMA strategies.

• Present investigator study proposals to cross-functional partners in clinical development and scientific medical affairs to support research initiatives, including clinical trials, registries, ISTs, and/or RWE.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced degree in medical or health sciences (e.g., MS/MD/DO/PhD/PharmD).

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience (diagnostic, pharmaceutical, oncology) is required.

• Experience as a medical science liaison in oncology or diagnostic industries.

• Comprehensive scientific and/or therapeutic knowledge.

• Proven understanding of clinical trial management.

• Familiarity with regulatory guidance and reporting requirements.

• Outstanding organizational and time management abilities.

• Strong presentation skills, including excellent verbal and written communication.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.

• A self-motivated individual with a results-oriented mindset and a positive attitude.

• Proficient in computer applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, and Google’s office suite (Drive, Sheets, Docs, Slides, Forms).
