This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.
• Assists the Medical Director in managing Toxicology - Workplace Services.
• Guarantees adherence to regulatory standards and offers clinical leadership.
• Provides occupational medicine and drug testing services.
• Analyzes and interprets drug test outcomes.
• Ensures adherence to specimen collection protocols.
• Performs fitness-for-duty assessments.
• Shares insights on industry trends and regulatory standards.
• Develops, implements, and enhances policies and procedures.
• Aids in supervising quality assurance initiatives.
• Maintains in-depth knowledge of relevant federal regulations.
• Assists in budget planning, resource distribution, and operational efficiency.
• MD or DO with a valid, unrestricted medical license; willingness to secure additional state licenses is required.
• Board-certified or board-eligible; certification in Occupational and Environmental Medicine is preferred.
• Current Medical Review Officer (MRO) certification from AAMRO or MROCC.
• Current DOT FMCSA Certified Medical Examiner (CDME) certification.
• At least 10 years of clinical experience, including occupational medicine and understanding of substance use disorders.
• Minimum of 5 years serving as a certified MRO, with proven knowledge of relevant regulations.
• Strong understanding of federal regulations and occupational health guidance.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant clinical/operational systems.
• Experience in providing testimony, depositions, or acting as an expert witness is preferred.
• Active engagement in the ODAPC listserv is required.
