This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

• Accurately and efficiently process requests for the release of information

• Retrieve and return medical charts for patients

• Scan and transmit medical records in accordance with requests and established protocols

• Date-stamp requests and emphasize relevant information

• Validate requests and authorizations for the release of medical information

• Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, appropriate invoicing, and compliance with releases

• Keep equipment in optimal working condition

• Provide attentive and respectful customer service while addressing client concerns

• Accept incoming requests via mail, telephone, and fax as necessary

• Uphold a professional appearance and maintain a clean, organized workspace

• Stay informed about state laws and fee structures

• Assist with additional facilities and backlog responsibilities as required

• Adhere to client/site policies, HIPAA regulations, as well as state and federal labor laws

• Protect confidential and privileged medical information while efficiently and accurately releasing records

• High School Diploma (GED) is mandatory

• Preferred minimum of 2 years of prior experience in a medical records department or similar environment

• Proficient in computer software applications

• Required general working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

• Excellent organizational capabilities

• Ability to type at a speed of 50 words per minute

• Competence in using fax machines, copiers, and scanning devices

• Eagerness to quickly learn new equipment and processes

• Self-driven and a collaborative team member

• Demonstrated skills in customer satisfaction

• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
