This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Assist the Editorial Services team and manage client accounts.
• Collaborate with Medical & Scientific Services, Project Management, Account Services, and Creative Services teams.
• Ensure quality assurance throughout all phases of project lifecycles.
• Review, copyedit, style, and format client deliverables, including Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, creative layouts, and digital or multimedia content.
• Edit materials for medical affairs, commercial, payer and patient communications, as well as publications teams.
• Conduct pre- and post-Creative reviews for Creative assets.
• Proofread Creative poster layouts against templates and congress guidelines, annotate changes, and integrate text modifications into layouts.
• Aid in the development and upkeep of client style guidelines that align with client, corporate, brand, agency, AMA, publication, and ethical standards.
• Recognize areas that require expertise from other team members and solicit their input.
• Support colleagues with editorial problem-solving, troubleshooting, and brainstorming sessions.
• Manage editorial tools and processes, including project intake, article ordering and tracking, bibliographies, reference libraries, congress calendars, and standards.
• Work alongside senior editors on project briefs, requirements, deadlines, budgets, scope, timelines, resource allocation, progress tracking, risks, and dependencies.
• Adopt, implement, and sustain new processes and technologies.
• Bachelor's degree.
• 2-3 years of relevant professional experience in medical or scientific editing.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, notably Acrobat.
• Familiarity with EndNote, GraphPad Prism, and medical literature databases such as PubMed.
• Experience with mock journal and congress submissions and compiling submission requirements.
• Experience in submitting abstracts to congresses and manuscripts to journals.
• Ability to prioritize projects, work collaboratively on team projects, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to source relevant information from published style manuals, journal guidelines, and literature searches, while maintaining accurate source records.
• Excellent understanding of grammar, usage, and medical writing style guidelines, including the AMA Manual of Style.
• Familiarity with general scientific and medical concepts, with the ability to comprehend complex scientific and medical applications.
• Capacity to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to identify key issues and creatively and strategically address challenges.
• Strong analytical thinking skills with the ability to effectively plan, prioritize, and execute assigned tasks.
