Medical Director, Oncology – Genitourinary Focus

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Senior Medical Director of Genitourinary Oncology to formulate and implement clinical strategies that support Natera’s molecular diagnostic solutions for GU cancers, including minimal residual disease (MRD) and ctDNA-based monitoring.

• Oversee the design and execution of clinical studies and treatment protocols that incorporate Natera’s technology into standard GU oncology practices.

• Recruit and engage top principal investigators (PIs) and clinical sites in GU oncology to take part in company-sponsored studies; coordinate study timelines and budgets alongside Clinical Trial Operations.

• Provide insights on product development for the GU oncology portfolio by identifying clinical unmet needs, exploring new product opportunities, determining key product features, intended use, test report content, and minimum validation criteria.

• Offer post-launch medical affairs assistance, including the interpretation of test results, clinical consultation for healthcare providers, and advice on patient counseling (both pre- and post-test).

• Act as a GU oncology expert to support high-value engagements and events identified by Strategic Accounts, Area Sales and Marketing leaders, and commercial or clinical leadership.

• Spearhead medical education initiatives, which include external training, launch planning, and the development of scientific and clinical materials relevant to GU malignancies.

• Identify and recruit Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in GU oncology to participate on advisory boards and assist in strategic planning.

• Aid the publication strategy by collaborating with Scientific Communications on manuscripts, abstracts, and conference presentations within the realm of GU oncology.

• Contribute to the regulatory strategy by providing medical insights for submissions related to GU cancer diagnostic products.

• Represent Natera’s medical perspective publicly through public relations, industry panels, advisory boards, and medical conferences, focusing on GU oncology.

⛳️ Requirements

• M.D. is required (board-certified or board-eligible in Radiation Oncology is preferred).

• Completion of residency training in Radiation Oncology.

• A minimum of 3 years of post-residency clinical experience in GU cancers (prostate, bladder, kidney, etc.) as a primary treating radiation oncologist.

• Extensive knowledge of treatment paradigms, clinical guidelines, and diagnostic workflows pertaining to GU cancers.

• At least 3 years of clinical trial experience in academic, biotech, or pharmaceutical environments.

• Willingness to travel up to 40% (mainly within the U.S., with occasional international travel).
