This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Offer clinical leadership and oversight for behavioral health programs, utilization management efforts, and quality initiatives.
• Deliver clinical oversight and medical management for behavioral health programs.
• Act as the primary clinical resource for intricate case reviews, utilization management decisions, and consultations with providers.
• Collaborate with health plans, providers, and internal stakeholders to promote evidence-based practices in behavioral health.
• Enhance member outcomes and broaden access to mental health and substance use disorder services.
• Propel initiatives related to behavioral health quality, utilization, and performance by overseeing clinical metrics, quality improvement programs, and evidence-based care standards.
• Evaluate clinical performance data and implement strategies to enhance access, quality outcomes, operational efficiency, and member experience.
• Ensure adherence to relevant regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards.
• Provide clinical consultation, education, and subject matter expertise to internal teams, health plan partners, and provider networks.
• Active, unrestricted Physician (MD or DO) license in the State of Michigan.
• Willingness and capability to obtain and maintain additional state licenses as necessary.
• Board certification in Psychiatry.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing psychiatrist with expertise in behavioral health, mental health, and/or substance use disorder populations.
• At least 3 years of experience in a managed care environment and/or utilization management.
• Demonstrated experience in driving clinical outcomes, quality improvement, and operational performance.
• Experience in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders, including health plans, providers, regulators, and community partners.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and quality improvement methodologies.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
• Capability to pass a background check upon hire and throughout employment.
• High-speed internet service with a minimum download speed of 20 Mbps, upload speed of 5 Mbps, and maximum latency of 100 milliseconds.
• A quiet workspace with minimal background noise for calls.
• Extensive knowledge of evidence-based clinical practices, population health, quality metrics, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong clinical judgment, analytical thinking, and data-driven decision-making abilities.
• Capability to develop, optimize, and evaluate clinical programs, care models, and performance improvement initiatives.
