This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +3 more states.
• Organize educational sessions with designated providers to enhance the quality of care and documentation.
• Assess the educational needs of providers by utilizing reports.
• Create reports and presentations that showcase coding quality trends, risk areas, and educational outcomes through data visualization.
• Provide onsite education to providers.
• Collaborate with other roles that interact with providers in the market.
• Employ data analytics tools to evaluate coding quality, identify error patterns, and ensure compliance with both internal and external standards.
• Analyze results from coding audits and associated data to develop educational materials and interventions based on data insights.
• Partner with teams to enhance documentation, data integrity, and workflow processes.
• Report directly to the Manager of Medicare Risk Adjustment.
• Travel up to 5% to nearby provider offices and occasionally to Humana offices for training or meetings.
• Certification from AHIMA or AAPC as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) is required.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in medical coding education or auditing within a healthcare environment.
• Proficient in data analytics tools, including Excel, Power BI, or similar applications.
• Experience in interpreting large datasets.
• Familiarity with healthcare risk adjustment, including HCC coding and the CMS-HCC model version 28.
• Experience communicating with leadership.
• Skills in webinar delivery, public speaking, or presentations with healthcare providers.
• Must reside in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, or Tennessee.
• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Knowledge of value-based care is preferred.
• Understanding of primary care concepts is preferred.
• Familiarity with Medicare Risk Adjustment is preferred.
• Certification as a Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) is preferred.
• Experience working with healthcare providers is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is preferred.
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for travel.
• A minimum internet speed of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload is required.
• Ability to work from a dedicated space without interruptions to safeguard member PHI/HIPAA information.
