Medical Coding Educator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Delivers educational and physician support related to coding and billing practices.

• Gathers, interprets, analyzes, and communicates information pertaining to physician reimbursement legislation and third-party regulations.

• Offers ongoing education in coding and billing for specialty services and third-party regulations.

• Serves as a liaison between coding personnel and other staff groups.

• Concentrates on identifying potential documentation improvement opportunities and issues by specialty for E&M, surgical, and ancillary clinicians.

• Develops and customizes educational modules for various medical professionals.

• Trains new providers and faculty staff on coding practices.

• Reviews remittance advices to resolve rejections and identify training opportunities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.

• Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.

• Six years of pertinent experience within a healthcare environment.

• Certified Professional Coder with active AAPC membership, or CCS-P with active AHIMA membership.
