Medical Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Conduct diagnosis coding for inpatient, outpatient, and physician office medical records.

• Document all processing information in the system in compliance with contract and organizational standards.

• Analyze feedback from Senior Coders to enhance the accuracy and quality of work.

• Ensure the security and confidentiality of medical records and Protected Health Information (PHI).

⛳️ Requirements

• At least one (1) year of experience in coding general acute hospital medical records.

• Must hold a certification from a recognized credentialing body (AAPC, AHIMA).

• Acceptable certifications include CPC, CCS, RHIA, RHIT; CRC certification is a plus.

• Preferably experienced in abstracting and ICD-9/ICD-10 coding.

• Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of concentration.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
