Coding Specialist I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• The main duty will be to develop professional coding for all diagnostic imaging modalities within the Radiology Department.

• Offer feedback, training, and education to team members, vendors, and occasionally providers regarding clinical documentation.

• Deliver real-time feedback to leadership concerning the accuracy of coding and clinical documentation for services rendered.

• Act as the primary liaison for provider and department communication and education, clarifying documentation and coding for radiological procedures, including addressing documentation deficiencies.

• Concentrate on radiological procedures while serving as an immediate contact for documentation improvement and the optimization of physician coding practices to ensure compliance and enhance revenue.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess experience in coding Diagnostic Radiology and the capability to organize, prioritize work, and manage multiple tasks effectively.

• Ability to engage and communicate effectively with Radiology staff members.

• Preferred 2+ years of coding and abstracting experience with CPT and ICD-10.

• Certification from the American Health Information Management Technician (AHIMA) as one of the following: Registered Health Information Management Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Management Technician (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Coding Specialist-Physician Based (CCS-P), or certification from the American Association of Procedural Coders (AAPC) as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC).
