This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.
• Ensure that daily billing batches are free from errors and prepared for transmission.
• Collect payments from patients, update their payment methods, and establish payment plans.
• Conduct routine follow-ups with payers and patients to guarantee timely payment of outstanding balances.
• Utilize online insurance portals to comprehend insurance benefits and eligibility.
• Read and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and Electronic Remittance Advices (ERAs).
• Identify, research, and escalate discrepancies found in patient accounts.
• Respond to patient and clinician emails/voicemails within 48 hours of receipt.
• Exhibit a strong understanding of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) platforms.
• Use Microsoft Office (Excel) for data analysis of reports.
• A Bachelor's Degree is required.
• At least 2 years of experience in behavioral health medical billing.
• Experience in handling high volume medical collections.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is an advantage.
