Medical Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and summarize clinical details from patient records.

• Accurately assign ICD, CPT, or HCPCS codes for document retrieval and claims processing.

• Consult with physicians when documentation is unclear.

• Ensure that records are precise, compliant, and accurately represent the care provided.

• Achieve productivity and quality standards.

• Keep updated with AHIMA coding guidelines, reimbursement standards, and DRG/APC assignment.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma equivalency OR at least 1 year of relevant cumulative job-specific experience is required.

• Required professional licensure/certification may substitute for education or experience, if applicable.

• Preference for AAPC or AHIMA certified coders.

• 2+ years of experience is preferred.

• CPC-As are not eligible.
