This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• May be required to perform one or more of the following tasks based on business needs (including but not limited to): Patient demographic data entry.
• Obtaining referrals and pre-authorizations as necessary for procedures.
• Verifying eligibility and benefits for treatments, hospitalizations, and procedures.
• Reviewing patient bills for accuracy and completeness, and acquiring any missing information.
• Preparing, reviewing, and submitting claims using billing software, including both electronic and paper claim processing.
• Following up on unpaid claims within the standard billing cycle timeframe.
• Verifying each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contracted discounts.
• Contacting insurance companies regarding any discrepancies in payments when necessary.
• Identifying and billing secondary or tertiary insurances.
• Reviewing accounts for patient follow-up with insurance.
• Researching and appealing denied claims.
• Responding to patient or insurance telephone inquiries related to assigned accounts.
• Establishing patient payment plans and managing collection accounts.
• A minimum of 2 years of Revenue Cycle experience in a healthcare setting is required.
• Must possess excellent computer knowledge of Patient Accounting systems.
• An Associate's degree or equivalent is necessary; a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
• A coding certificate is preferred.
