Medical Billing Claims Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Assist the Submissions team member in fulfilling their responsibilities to submit electronic and paper claims accurately and promptly.

• Daily check of submissions to identify errors, determine solutions, and inform the team member.

• Review claims to ensure they are complete and contain accurate information prior to submission.

• Transmit electronic and paper claims utilizing billing software.

• Conduct audits of medical records to verify that billed services are supported by appropriate documentation.

• Follow up on rejected claims each day.

• Monitor providers requiring enrollment to ensure successful submissions.

• Persistently follow through on rejected claims until resolution is achieved.

• Update the team leader regarding recurring issues.

• Attend weekly team meetings and complete assigned tasks for the authorizations team member.

• Other duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's degree (2-year college degree).

• Two years of experience in a US-based medical billing practice or two years in a medical practice involving billing, including but not limited to provider credentialing, authorization, reimbursement, etc., preferably with some experience in Behavioral Health.

• Must have a backup power supply (extra laptop/power bank/generator/UPS or reside near a coworking space).

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

• Ability to plan and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Clear and effective communicator.

• Strong reading comprehension abilities.

• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.

• Comprehensive understanding of internet navigation.
