Medical Billing and Accounts Receivable Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Accountable for the precise processing of patient billing, managing insurance claims, and ensuring prompt reimbursement.

• Responsibilities include reviewing medical records, coding procedures, and working collaboratively with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve discrepancies.

• A keen attention to detail, familiarity with medical terminology, and expertise in billing software are crucial for success in this position.

• Verify insurance benefits and validate patient eligibility.

• Secure prior authorization for services as necessary.

• Assess clinician-entered charges for accuracy before claim generation.

• Prepare and submit claim files efficiently.

• Accurately post insurance and client payments in a timely manner.

• Analyze and address ERA/EOB denials by implementing appropriate corrective actions.

• Manage accounts receivable and actively pursue outstanding balances.

• Supervise client collections to ensure timely payment.

• Handle insurance appeals for denied or underpaid claims effectively.

• Stay updated and compliant with payor reimbursement policies, procedures, and guidelines.

• Monitor and apply contracted fee schedules to guarantee accurate expected payments.

• Cultivate positive communication and relationships with patients, clinicians, physicians, third-party payors, and other Boundless staff to deliver exceptional customer service.

• Comply with company policies and procedures, as well as regulations, laws, and other requirements from relevant governing bodies, certification, licensure, and/or accreditation entities.

• Additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma is required; college coursework is a plus.

• 1-3 years of experience in medical billing and collections, along with insurance verification, is preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft 365.

• Medical Coding Certification is preferred.

• Valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record, if applicable.
