Medical Advisor, Cardiovascular

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement the national medical plan in alignment with the global medical strategy and the specific needs of the local market.

• Enhance medical preparedness for product launches and ongoing lifecycle activities.

• Provide medical leadership and scientific insights to commercial, market access, regulatory, and global teams while ensuring medical independence.

• Establish and nurture relationships with key opinion leaders, treatment centers, scientific societies, and external stakeholders.

• Lead scientific discussions and gather insights from healthcare professionals and experts.

• Represent AMP at scientific conferences and professional gatherings.

• Ensure that medical and promotional materials are scientifically accurate, compliant, and have undergone appropriate reviews.

• Manage medical information inquiries and deliver balanced, evidence-based scientific responses.

• Identify gaps in evidence and support local evidence generation, research, registries, and collaborations with investigators.

• Monitor scientific literature, guidelines, and developments in healthcare, communicating key insights internally.

• Ensure timely reporting and escalation of adverse events, safety information, and product quality issues.

• Oversee country medical activities, including budgets, vendors, external partners, documentation, reporting, and compliance requirements.

• Serve as the primary point of medical accountability within the Belgian market.

• Collaborate with Global Medical Affairs, Evidence Generation, Medical Information, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Legal, Compliance, Commercial, and Market Access teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Medicine, Pharmacy, or a related scientific field, such as MD, PharmD, PhD, MSc, or equivalent.

• Over 5 years of experience in Medical Affairs, including roles such as Medical Advisor, Medical Science Liaison, or similar positions in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device sectors.

• Strong understanding of scientific engagement, evidence generation, pharmaceutical compliance requirements, and local industry codes of practice.

• Experience in cardiovascular therapeutic areas is a significant advantage.

• Established professional network and comprehensive understanding of healthcare systems in Belgium.

• Proven ability to cultivate credible relationships with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, and scientific stakeholders.

• Experience in collaborating across commercial, market access, regulatory, and other healthcare functions.

• Ability to interpret scientific evidence and convert insights into actionable medical strategies.

• Experience in contributing to scientific publications, abstracts, or presentations at congresses.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

• Proactive, organized, and independent working style with the ability to handle multiple priorities.

• Familiarity with launch environments, specialist therapies, or treatments for rare diseases is an asset.

• Fluency in English and French.

• Proficiency in Dutch/Flemish is an advantage.
