This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create comprehensive solutions addressing technical, operational, and maintenance challenges.
• Support the maintenance team in troubleshooting issues.
• Handle the rigging of aircraft control systems.
• Conduct repairs and address malfunctions in aircraft hydraulics.
• Repair and troubleshoot aircraft fire detection and suppression systems.
• Manage repairs and address malfunctions in aircraft fuel systems.
• Oversee repairs and troubleshoot issues related to aircraft pressurization systems.
• Present technical findings to management or team members.
• Ensure that all repairs adhere to approved naval aviation maintenance policies.
• Execute engineering investigations on failed aircraft components and systems.
• Provide recommendations for obsolete aircraft system components.
• Assess the criticality of aircraft system components through failure mode effects and criticality analysis.
• Review deficiency reports on technical publications and update them as necessary.
• Ensure the safe and proper operation of aircraft.
• Interpret blueprints, estimate materials, and determine timeframes for repairs.
• Evaluate aircraft airworthiness.
• Utilize engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, develop, implement, test, and assess projects within the mechanical engineering field.
• Review and produce engineering and technical analyses, reports, and other documentation.
• Up to 10% travel may be required.
• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, aerodynamics, mechanical, or electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical systems engineering within the aviation, aerospace, or defense sectors.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting and integration of test equipment, electrical/power systems, air conditioning, cabin pressure, hydraulics, and mechanical systems in aircraft.
• Proficiency in reading, creating, and editing drawings in AutoCAD (or a similar CAD program) and preparing work instructions in Microsoft 365 and Adobe Acrobat products.
• Experience in prototyping and validating installations.
• Competency in using Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
