This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Develop mechanical and thermal solutions for both new and existing Jabil-owned manufacturing facilities and product support.
• Spearhead the initial phases of factory design by assessing, specifying, and integrating mechanical and cooling systems.
• Convert product and process needs into scalable factory architectures.
• Oversee the design of factory-level mechanical and cooling architectures utilizing hyperscale data center design principles.
• Design and integrate air-cooled and water-cooled chiller plants, dry coolers, heat rejection systems, and hydronic distribution networks.
• Collaborate with electrical, controls, and operations teams to achieve targets for availability, resilience, and operational excellence.
• Design and integrate liquid cooling systems at the rack, row, and facility levels, including CDUs, manifolds, and heat exchangers.
• Establish operational requirements for liquid-cooling infrastructure and ensure thermal and mechanical integration with facility cooling plants.
• Review and authorize mechanical designs, CAD models, and technical data packages.
• Choose piping, valves, fittings, pumps, heat exchangers, and cooling equipment.
• Create and distribute bills of materials and manufacturing documentation.
• Conduct or supervise thermal, hydraulic, and mechanical analyses.
• Define and manage system-level and component-level testing, including leak testing, hydrostatic pressure testing, and performance validation.
• Analyze test and field data to drive design enhancements.
• Lead design-for-manufacturability and design-for-assembly initiatives.
• Optimize manufacturing and installation processes for copper, stainless steel, and aluminum piping systems.
• Maintain technical relationships with cooling equipment OEMs, contract manufacturers, and fabrication partners.
• Assist in the deployment, commissioning, and resolution of early-life issues for data center cooling systems.
• Carry out other assigned duties and responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in mechanical system integration.
• A Master’s degree in engineering or higher is highly desirable.
• An active Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
• Demonstrated success in system designs and implementations within a relevant industry.
• Comprehensive understanding of mechanical systems, integration strategies, and system coordination.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations pertaining to Data Center Infrastructure is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Creative, self-driven, accountable, and collaborative.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in interpreting business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
• Skilled in drafting reports, business correspondence, and procedural guides.
• Adept at presenting information and addressing inquiries from management, clients, and the public.
• Capable of influencing others and sharing best practices.
• Comfortable working within a global team environment.
• Able to evaluate projects, articulate risks, and establish project milestones.
• Familiar with stage-gate processes in project lifecycle management (PLCM).
• Capable of mentoring less experienced engineers.
