
Mechanical Engineer, P.E. – Accident Reconstruction

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Conduct investigations on vehicles, equipment, and accident scenes to collect evidence and evaluate the extent of damage.
• Analyze and assess damages resulting from failures, identifying the root cause of these failures for insurance purposes and litigation support.
• Research, evaluate, analyze, and test the causes of accidents and failures.
• Work in collaboration with other engineering disciplines to generate comprehensive reports detailing the causes of accidents.
• Act as an expert witness in court proceedings and/or depositions.
• Keep track of billable hours on a time and expense basis for client projects.
• Collaborate with EFI's national team of forensic professionals and provide assistance on various projects.
• Travel as necessary.
• Experience in Vehicle Accident Reconstruction is mandatory.
• A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is essential.
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.
• Six (6) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
• ACTAR certification is preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
• Proficiency in PC applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Possess analytical and interpretive abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills are essential.
• Strong interpersonal skills are required.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Capability to meet or exceed established Performance Competencies.
• Physical ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
• Ability to kneel, squat, bend, climb, crawl, stoop, and reach/work overhead.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, both hot and cold.
• Capability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to push/pull weights up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to drive for up to 4 hours a day.
