This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Create and develop HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical utility systems for governmental and institutional facilities.

• Generate construction drawings, technical specifications, equipment schedules, and perform engineering calculations.

• Collaborate with architectural, civil, structural, electrical, and controls teams.

• Ensure adherence to ASHRAE, NFPA, ICC, energy codes, and specific design criteria set by agencies.

• Conduct load calculations, energy modeling, ventilation assessments, system sizing, and other engineering computations.

• Utilize AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Civil 3D, Carrier HAP/Trace, eQUEST, or comparable software tools.

• Implement cost estimating and quantity takeoff tools such as Bluebeam, RSMeans, and Sage Estimating.

• Assist in construction administration through reviewing submittals, addressing RFIs, conducting site visits, coordinating commissioning, and verifying installation compliance.

• Execute fire protection engineering tasks, including the design of sprinklers and smoke control systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must hold a Registered Professional Engineer license in good standing within the United States.

• Must reside in the Eastern time zone.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.

• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or 6 years with a Master's degree.

• Professional Engineer License in good standing in the US.

• Ability to acquire and maintain Public Trust Suitability.

• Proven experience in mechanical engineering design and analysis.

• Background in testing and evaluation of mechanical systems.

• Capacity to work effectively within a team setting.

• Strong communication skills.

• Proficient in engineering analysis and design software tools.

• Competent in creating and modifying projects in AutoCAD.
