Mechanical Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Strategically develop and execute cost-efficient and reliable mechanical designs and distribution systems.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Technical Project Management, Data Center IT, IT Procurement, Network Engineering, and external vendors to assess and verify installation and operational performance of mechanical systems in data centers.

• Design solutions that not only meet but also surpass Nebius’s quality standards while adhering to our budget constraints.

• Explore innovative designs and integrate new technologies into Nebius AI’s data center planning and infrastructure.

• Identify and compile a comprehensive list of electrical equipment and components necessary for the construction and installation phases.

• Manage multiple projects across various locations, and conduct site visits to supervise the work of external vendors and contractors.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in building services engineering or mechanical engineering, or over 10 years of pertinent mechanical engineering experience in mission-critical facilities, including data centers, power generation, and oil/gas environments.

• At least 7 years of experience in developing mechanical design documentation for construction projects.

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial and/or industrial mechanical design.

• Extensive knowledge of data center design, Building Management Systems (BMS), HVAC design, and related product development.

• Profound understanding of data center mechanical systems, including chillers (both air-cooled and water-cooled), pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers, CRAHs/CRAC units, fans, air economizers, and water treatment systems.

• Solid understanding of electrical equipment and system designs associated with data centers.

• Strong data analysis capabilities.

• Exceptional communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
