Mechanical Design Engineer

📋 Description

• Develop and execute cost-effective and reliable mechanical designs and distribution systems.

• Collaborate with internal business partners such as Technical Project Management, Data Center IT, IT Procurement, and Network Engineering, as well as with external vendors to assess and validate the installation and operational performance of data center mechanical systems.

• Design solutions that not only meet but exceed Nebius’s quality standards within our budget constraints.

• Explore innovative designs and integrate new technologies into Nebius AI’s data center planning and infrastructure.

• Identify and compile a list of electrical equipment and components needed for the build and installation phases.

• Manage multiple projects across various locations and visit construction sites to supervise the work of external vendors and contractors.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in building services engineering or mechanical engineering, or over 10 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience in mission-critical facilities, including but not limited to data centers, power generation, and oil/gas facilities.

• At least 7 years of experience in producing mechanical design documentation for construction projects.

• Over 7 years of experience in commercial and/or industrial mechanical design.

• Extensive knowledge of data center design, BMS & HVAC design, and related product development.

• Comprehensive understanding of data center mechanical systems, including chillers (air-cooled & water-cooled), pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers, CRAHs/CRAC, fans, air economizers, and water treatment systems.

• Solid understanding of electrical equipment and system designs pertinent to data centers.

• Strong data analysis capabilities.

• Excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
