Math 110 SI Leader, Tutor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Facilitate multiple online Supplemental Instruction sessions each week, fostering interactive discussions on challenging course material.

• Develop engaging activities for online sessions to captivate students instead of merely delivering lectures.

• Incorporate course-specific study techniques and learning strategies to enhance students’ academic success.

• Attend mandatory SI Leader Orientation, training sessions, and scheduled meetings.

• Fulfill SI-related administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Online Tutoring Services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a current Residential undergraduate or graduate student.

• Achieved an “A” or “B” in the course you intend to tutor.

• Maintain a cumulative LU GPA of no less than 3.0.

• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills with individuals from diverse educational, cultural, and social backgrounds.

• Demonstrate enthusiasm for supporting and assisting students in enhancing their understanding of course content and effective study practices.

• Exhibit excellent responsibility, reliability, punctuality, and organizational skills.

• Display appropriate and professional behavior.

• Capable of effectively communicating both verbally and in writing.

• Proficient in understanding, speaking, and writing in English.

• Possess public communication skills for the professional representation of Liberty University.

• Strong organizational abilities are essential.

• Excellent computer proficiency is required.

• Ability to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment to address both routine and complex problems.

• Capability to sit for extended periods and type on a keyboard.

• Ability to hear and speak effectively.

• No driving is required for this position.
