This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• Conducting audits and activating current marketing assets, including CRM, website, email lists, and social media accounts.
• Overseeing and optimizing the marketing technology stack; recognizing and implementing compatible tools.
• Establishing the groundwork for a marketing department that will expand in tandem with the company.
• Researching, interviewing, and collaborating with sales and leadership to develop and refine K–12 buyer personas.
• Designing and managing a thought leadership content strategy that enhances credibility and supports extended sales cycles.
• Planning and executing campaigns across email, content, social media, SEO, and paid advertising.
• Assisting with field marketing efforts: formulating tradeshow and event strategies, preparing pre-event outreach, designing lead capture and follow-up processes, and analyzing post-event performance and ROI.
• Developing and maintaining a measurement framework with defined KPIs and regular reporting to the CEO.
• Monitoring and reporting on key metrics.
• Collaborating closely with the CEO and sales team to align marketing initiatives with business objectives and revenue targets.
• 3–6 years of practical marketing experience executing across content, email, social media, events, and SEO.
• Demonstrated ability to create measurement frameworks and make data-driven decisions using metrics such as MQLs, MQL-to-SQL conversion, CAC, and ROAS.
• Experience in developing buyer personas through direct research and interviews.
• Strong experience in managing tradeshows or events: strategy development, material creation, feedback-based iteration, and follow-up execution.
• General understanding of SEO and the ability to assess and implement marketing technology tools.
• Experience in creating thought leadership content and campaigns.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills; confident in virtual presentations and brand representation.
• Builder mindset: proactive, organized, and comfortable taking ownership of strategy and execution in a lean, autonomous, fully remote setting.
• Preferred experience in K-12, edtech, or public sector marketing.
• Familiarity with direct mail or offline campaign execution.
• Experience in a small-company or first-marketing-hire environment.
• Knowledge of Pipedrive is a plus.
