This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +3 more states.
• Oversee the Event Lead team in the planning, production, and operational execution of intricate, high-profile, market-facing events.
• Take charge of assigned events and portfolios from the initial intake or concept phase through to post-event assessment.
• Convert business objectives into event strategies, success metrics, scopes, roles, decision-making authorities, and detailed project plans.
• Provide coaching to the team, assign work, deploy resources, conduct quality reviews, offer feedback, and handle escalations.
• Act as a trusted consultant and escalation resource for senior leaders, event sponsors, cross-functional partners, accounts, and strategic initiatives.
• Develop operating procedures in collaboration with Marketing, Sales, Communications, Finance, Procurement, Technology, Legal, Risk, and other event-related functions.
• Oversee vendors, venues, budgets, forecasts, contracts, technology choices, risks, logistics, and the attendee experience.
• Manage pre-event preparations, live event execution, contingency strategies, issue resolution, and escalation processes.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and applicable legal, insurance, health and safety, data privacy, contractual, and risk management standards.
• Lead post-event assessments, evaluate outcomes, consolidate feedback, detect trends, and implement scalable process enhancements.
• Assist the Executive Operations and Events Leader with standards, service expectations, governance, reporting, resource planning, team development, and strategic projects.
• Progressive experience in corporate meeting and event planning, production, and logistics.
• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in meeting and event management, including complex programs or portfolios.
• Preferred bachelor's or associate degree in business, hospitality, marketing, communications, event management, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
• Proven track record in leading complex, high-profile events and managing multiple concurrent projects with substantial budgets, stakeholders, vendors, and dependencies.
• Strong capabilities in project, portfolio, budget, resource, risk, and vendor management.
• Ability to translate business objectives into event strategies, measurable success criteria, and actionable delivery plans.
• Excellent executive presence, facilitation, written communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
• Capability to influence decisions, resolve conflicts, manage ambiguity, and maintain composure in high-pressure environments.
• Experience in coaching colleagues, leading matrixed teams, reviewing work quality, and enhancing operational performance.
• Strong analytical skills for assessing event performance, identifying trends, and providing evidence-based recommendations.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Solid understanding of event management, registration, attendee engagement, virtual/hybrid, and audiovisual technologies.
• High level of discretion and ability to safeguard confidential business, client, participant, and financial information.
• Ability to cultivate respectful and productive relationships at all organizational levels and with external partners.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including extended hours during peak planning times and live events.
• Capability to travel as necessary for event execution, planning meetings, team development, and departmental activities.
• Knowledge of event industry trends, venue and vendor landscapes, contracting practices, and event risk management.
• Familiarity with registration platforms, mobile applications, virtual and hybrid platforms, attendee engagement tools, and event data/reporting solutions.
• Experience in developing templates, playbooks, service standards, metrics, or continuous improvement initiatives.
• Understanding of marketing and sales handoffs, event ROI, attendee data stewardship, accessibility, and sustainable event practices.
