This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Deliver strategic leadership for ONWA’s marketing, branding, digital engagement, public awareness, and organizational reputation.

• Spearhead the creation, execution, and assessment of ONWA’s comprehensive Marketing and Communications Strategy.

• Promote ONWA’s Vision, Mission, strategic priorities, and advocacy objectives.

• Manage the Marketing and Communications team.

• Oversee cohesive marketing, storytelling, digital communications, social media, branding, and public awareness initiatives throughout Ontario.

• Offer strategic marketing and communications guidance to Executive Leadership and various departments.

• Collaborate with program areas to convert organizational priorities into public-facing campaigns.

• Maintain consistent, culturally informed messaging and uphold brand integrity.

• Safeguard and elevate ONWA’s public image and reputation through effective communications, collaboration, and relationship-building.

• Utilize performance metrics, audience insights, and evaluations to enhance marketing and communications efforts.


⛳️ Requirements

• Post-secondary diploma or bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, or a related field, or a comparable combination of education and experience.

• A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ management experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or a relevant field.

• Experience in supervising staff members.

• Proven track record in developing, executing, monitoring, and evaluating a comprehensive organization-wide Communications Strategy.

• Expertise in ensuring brand compliance and fostering a positive and effective public image.

• Experience in leading the development and implementation of marketing and communications strategies.

• Skilled in coordinating marketing and communications campaigns, promotional materials, and initiatives.

• Ability to craft messaging and marketing content across digital, print, social media, and broadcast platforms.

• Experience in managing social media channels, digital content, and engagement campaigns.

• Strong project management capabilities.

• Ability to handle multiple campaigns, deadlines, workflows, and deliverables efficiently.

• Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Strong organizational and time management abilities.

• Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.

• Experience in not-for-profit or community-focused settings is advantageous.

• Robust understanding of marketing and communications strategy, branding, campaign development, and public awareness communications.

• Familiarity with digital marketing, social media platforms, and content management systems.

• Knowledge of Indigenous communities, cultures, and culturally safe communication practices.

• Awareness of social issues impacting Indigenous women and families.

• Understanding of public awareness campaigns and communications and marketing strategies tailored for diverse audiences.

• Acquainted with not-for-profit marketing and communications environments and funder expectations.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and digital marketing and communications tools.
