This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Assist in strategic communication initiatives aimed at enhancing public awareness, brand recognition, community involvement, and donor comprehension of the organization's mission and impact.
• Aid in campaigns and projects designed to bolster community participation and donor engagement.
• Support the establishment and upkeep of relationships with local media outlets, encompassing both traditional and non-traditional media sources.
• Help with media outreach efforts, including press releases, media advisories, and public announcements.
• Organize media coverage opportunities for organizational events and initiatives.
• Oversee and update the organization’s social media accounts and content calendar.
• Create compelling digital content that reflects the organization's mission and branding.
• Track engagement metrics and propose strategies to enhance reach and audience interaction.
• Assist with website updates and electronic communications as directed.
• Gather stories, testimonials, photos, and videos from members, families, volunteers, and staff for promotional and publication purposes.
• Produce written and visual content for newsletters, social media, annual reports, donor communications, and marketing materials.
• Facilitate communication and promotion for fundraising events, community activities, Club events, volunteer initiatives, and donor engagement opportunities.
• Collaborate with fundraising, program, and leadership teams to align with organizational communication objectives.
• Maintain consistency in messaging across various departments and communication platforms.
• A bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in marketing, communications, media relations, or digital content creation is preferred.
• Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Experience in managing social media platforms for an organization or brand is required.
• Basic skills in graphic design, photography, or video editing are preferred.
• Familiarity with social media analytics and content management tools is preferred.
• Excellent judgment and professionalism in representing the organization publicly are necessary.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects, deadlines, and communication channels simultaneously is crucial.
• Willingness to travel locally to work sites, events, and community activities as needed.
• Availability for occasional evening and weekend events and community engagement activities is required.
• Final candidates must pass a background check and drug test.
