This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +4 more states.
• Create and implement account growth strategies for designated clients and prospects.
• Employ the company’s sales methodology to enhance existing business and secure new accounts.
• Assess customer needs and devise solutions to tackle business challenges.
• Draft and deliver proposals, pricing, and quotes to clients.
• Share insights regarding customers, competitors, and market trends with business leadership.
• Facilitate technical discussions about product specifications and customized solutions.
• Offer tailored solutions and proposals based on specific customer requirements.
• Collaborate closely with sourcing and operations teams to provide solutions that align with customer and business goals.
• Engage with key strategic vendor partners to foster growth within the marine and commercial shipbuilding sectors.
• Communicate customer, market, and competitive intelligence to internal stakeholders for strategic planning.
• Maintain an accurate and active pipeline utilizing Salesforce CRM.
• Provide regular updates on accounts and territory reports to sales leadership.
• Represent GCG at trade shows, industry events, and client site visits.
• Cultivate trusted relationships by serving as a technical advisor and solutions provider.
• Uphold high standards of responsiveness and customer service throughout the sales process.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
• At least 5 years of experience in technical outside sales, with a strong preference for expertise in the pleasure boat and shipbuilding industry.
• Proven track record of engaging with engineers, technical buyers, and OEM project teams.
• Demonstrated success in territory development and consultative selling.
• Strong technical knowledge and the ability to convey product specifications effectively.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Highly organized with strong self-management and time management abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce CRM.
• Willingness to travel 50–60% of the time (potentially higher in the first year).
• Competitive base salary ranging from $120,000 to $135,000 per year, depending on industry and outside sales experience; commissions-based incentive plan.
