Manufacturing Engineer – Module Frames

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Assist in the launch, commissioning, and scaling of new equipment at supplier sites, both domestically and internationally.

β€’ Engage in product development from initial concept to design release, offering insights on manufacturing feasibility and recommendations for DFM/DFMA.

β€’ Collaborate with suppliers to gather and integrate external DFM feedback along with capabilities constraints.

β€’ Examine engineering drawings, specifications, and design modifications; pinpoint manufacturability risks and suggest engineering solutions.

β€’ Facilitate structured design release checkpoints by providing engineering advice based on manufacturability, process capability, cost influences, and supplier readiness.

β€’ Spearhead and/or promote innovation in manufacturing technologies and technical readiness initiatives for the intricate roll forming of steel products.

β€’ Organize and implement prototype builds, supplier trials, and on-site validations; confirm functional intent and key/critical dimensions using appropriate measurement and inspection techniques.

β€’ Direct technical value engineering and cost-reduction efforts for module frame products by identifying cost drivers and formulating engineering solutions.

β€’ Specify and validate manufacturing readiness deliverables, as necessary: process flows, manufacturing risk assessments, inspection strategies, work instructions, packaging requirements, and ramp-readiness checklists.

β€’ Capture best practices throughout the group and implement standardized solutions across the supplier network.

β€’ Take part in NPI readiness reviews and cross-functional discussions as needed.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited institution with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering/industrialization for complex roll-formed steel components and assemblies in an OEM or contract manufacturing setting.

β€’ At least 10 years of experience in design for manufacturing, steel manufacturing processes, or steel machinery (leading CAPEX projects that involve implementing machinery or equipment into factories).

β€’ Minimum of 5 years of experience serving major OEM clients in renewable energy, automotive, consumer electronics, consumer goods, or industrial manufacturing (experience with solar trackers is a plus).

β€’ Significant experience with roll forming complex steel shapes and fabrication processes (including roll forming, stamping, welding, casting, laser cutting, machining, coating/finishing, assembly, automation).

β€’ Familiarity with engineering change management within a PLM system and the discipline to carry out controlled implementation.

β€’ CAD collaboration skills for manufacturability assessments (SolidWorks or equivalent) and the capability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

β€’ Practical knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma principles and structured problem-solving techniques (such as 8D, 5-Why, Pareto).

β€’ Strategic mindset with the ability to provide clarity, structure, and actionable steps to ambiguous plans and technical challenges.

β€’ Exceptional oral and written communication skills in English, including the capability to organize, conceptually interpret, and clearly convey materials developed collaboratively.

β€’ Proven ability to manage large, complex change initiatives and drive results through effective use of facts and quantitative data, as well as influence, persuasion, and relationship management.

β€’ Willingness to travel 75% of the time (both internationally and domestically).
