Manual Test Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and execute manual test cases for healthcare software solutions.

• Ensure the quality of software and systems through thorough testing strategies, plans, and environments.

• Collaborate with development teams to align on resolving defects.

• Engage regularly with customers and project teams to clarify requirements and address defects.

• Analyze business, functional, and technical requirements.

• Create and maintain test conditions, test cases, and Requirements Traceability Matrices.

• Identify dependencies, risks, assumptions, and constraints related to testing.

• Execute manual testing and document results with clear evidence for audit purposes.

• Test user interfaces and workflows for eligibility and benefit determination.

• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects throughout their lifecycle.

• Support defect triage meetings and work collaboratively with development, business, and vendor teams to resolve issues.

• Analyze, create, and maintain test data for System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) execution.

• Coordinate test data requirements with business, technical, and data conversion teams.

• Report directly to the Test Manager.

• Contribute actively to software and system quality processes with direct interaction with development teams, business analysts, and client stakeholders.


⛳️ Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience as a Tester.

• At least 3 years of hands-on testing experience within large-scale systems, preferably within US Healthcare Payer or similar systems with significant integrations.

• Domain expertise in MMIS/MES, Healthcare Payer systems, Medicaid/Medicare systems, and HIPAA regulations.

• Experience in developing and executing SIT, UAT, End-to-End, Regression, and Business Process Validation test scenarios and cases.

• Ability to analyze business, functional, and technical requirements and translate them into detailed test conditions and cases.

• Experience in creating and maintaining Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTM) and ensuring comprehensive test coverage against business requirements.

• Ability to identify testing dependencies, risks, assumptions, and constraints.

• Experience in executing manual test cases and documenting results with clear evidence for auditability.

• Experience in testing User Interfaces and Workflows for eligibility and benefit determination.

• Ability to identify, document, prioritize, and track defects throughout the defect lifecycle.

• Experience supporting defect triage meetings and collaborating with development, business, and vendor teams to address issues.

• Strong understanding of defect severity, priority, root cause analysis, and retesting procedures.

• Ability to analyze, create, and maintain test data necessary for SIT and UAT execution.

• Ability to coordinate test data needs with business, technical, and data conversion teams.

• Understanding of database concepts and basic SQL query writing.

• Basic understanding of programming concepts and scripting languages.

• Proficiency in test and defect management tools such as Jira, Jama, XRAY, Zephyr, TestRail, QTest, and ALM.

• Preferred: Experience supporting State Medicaid modernization or MMIS programs.

• Preferred: Experience working in government or public-sector healthcare programs.

• Strong domain knowledge of MMIS/MES, Healthcare Payer, Medicaid/Medicare systems, member eligibility, and benefits assessment and determination.

• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare data privacy requirements.

• Experience in developing, reviewing, and executing SIT and UAT test scenarios and cases.

• Experience testing complex business processes involving multiple assessments and workflows.
