Mandarin VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Egypt.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary used in the industry in which you will interpret (specifically healthcare and medical). - Training will be provided.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages without adding, omitting, or substituting any information.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service during interpretation sessions.

• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and complete interpretation of messages.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training programs.

• Demonstrate a willingness to pursue new professional certifications.

• Communicate effectively and report to your team leader.

• Follow dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Mandarin."

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in over-the-telephone interpretation with a reputable interpretation company is preferred but not mandatory.

• Good understanding of medical terminology is advantageous but not essential.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is a plus.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are beneficial (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
