Mandarin, English OPI/VRI Interpreters

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Taiwan.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry in which you will interpret (specifically healthcare and medical) - training will be provided.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages, without adding, omitting, or substituting any information.

• Deliver the highest level of customer service during interpretation sessions.

• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and thorough interpretations.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Engage in internal professional training.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader regularly.

• Follow dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Mandarin."

• A minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company is advantageous but not essential.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial but not required.

• Knowledge of legal terminology is an additional advantage.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are a plus (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
