Mandarin, English Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls professionally, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during a call.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific terminology relevant to the industry in which you will be interpreting (particularly healthcare and medical)—training will be provided.

• Ensure that all messages are conveyed accurately and completely, without additions, omissions, or substitutions.

• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the interpreting process.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing accurate and complete message interpretation.

• Implement standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training.

• Show enthusiasm for acquiring new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader.

• Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Cantonese/Mandarin".

• A minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience in a reputable interpretation company is preferred, but not essential.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous but not required.

• Knowledge of legal terminology is beneficial.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare sector is a plus (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and tolerance for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
