This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Spearhead business development to enhance the institutional sector across the Western United States.
• Oversee all asset classes, focusing primarily on the distribution of public equity and fixed income to institutional clients.
• Collaborate with specialized sales teams to cover alternative credit, private equity, private credit, and private real asset platforms.
• Formulate and execute strategic sales plans that include milestones, objectives, targets, and goals for market penetration.
• Build and nurture relationships with institutional clients.
• Work in tandem with private market sales teams to generate leads and support the closing of new business opportunities.
• Collaborate with the RFP, Client Service, and Consultant Relations teams on RFI, RFP, DDQ, and other ad hoc requests.
• Partner with institutional marketing to drive campaigns and outreach efforts aimed at enhancing brand visibility and creating business prospects.
• Provide updates on activities, sales pipeline, key client focuses, and product initiatives to Sales Leadership.
• Engage in extensive travel within the designated territory.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in an asset management firm working with institutional investors.
• Strong understanding of the investment sector and the institutional market landscape.
• In-depth knowledge of fixed income, equities, alternative credit, private equity, private credit, and private real asset strategies.
• Capability to clearly and knowledgeably articulate complex investment processes.
• Demonstrated individual success in raising assets.
• Extensive network of relationships with institutional investors, including corporate and public pension plans, endowments, foundations, healthcare organizations, multifamily offices, and other institutional capital sources.
• Proven ability to cultivate trusted relationships and serve as an investment thought partner to senior investment professionals.
• Strong organizational acumen with the ability to navigate a large global organization effectively.
• Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Motivation to build and grow a business in a complex, performance-driven environment.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in business or economics, ideally with a concentration in finance.
• FINRA Series 7/63 certification is mandatory.
• MBA and/or CFA designation is preferred.
