This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Oversee Security Architecture & Engineering as a key enterprise capability.
• Develop and enforce security architecture standards, reference architectures, and design patterns across applications, cloud, infrastructure, and platform services.
• Integrate security throughout the technology delivery lifecycle by implementing secure-by-design and DevSecOps methodologies.
• Propel scalable, resilient, automated engineering results that align with cloud-native and platform-based architectures.
• Take ownership of the strategy, architecture, roadmap, modernization, and delivery of essential cybersecurity platforms and services.
• Lead engineering teams in designing, implementing, integrating, automating, and managing the lifecycle of security technologies, reusable services, APIs, and engineering capabilities.
• Establish platform engineering practices and metrics aimed at enhancing reliability, scalability, performance, resiliency, adoption, operational efficiency, and user experience.
• Define and promote secure cloud adoption strategies for multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
• Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, and application leaders on secure platform configuration, architecture, and operations.
• Spearhead the development of guardrails and controls that support speed, security, and compliance.
• Advocate for infrastructure-as-code, policy-as-code, automated security controls, and reusable cloud-native security patterns.
• Establish security architecture and controls for AI/GenAI solutions, focusing on model governance, data protection, and responsible AI practices.
• Facilitate the secure adoption of advanced analytics, machine learning, and automation capabilities.
• Assess emerging technologies and weave them into security and engineering strategies.
• Drive AI-enabled security capabilities, automation, and engineering solutions for detection, response, security operations, decision-making, and cyber defense.
• Counsel senior technology and business leaders on security architecture, cloud risk, and investment priorities.
• Align architecture and engineering decisions with cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with risk, compliance, and audit teams on platform controls and governance.
• Deliver executive-level communication regarding security posture, architectural direction, and key risks.
• Formulate and implement a multi-year cybersecurity platform strategy.
• Streamline the tooling portfolio, enhance engineering excellence, promote automation, and align investment planning and lifecycle management with business outcomes.
• Cultivate and mentor leadership talent, ensuring succession depth and engagement.
• Foster a culture that balances risk management, business enablement, and innovation.
• Bachelor's degree is required.
• A minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, cloud engineering, or technology leadership roles.
• Proven track record in leading enterprise-level security architecture, secure engineering, and cybersecurity platform delivery functions within complex, regulated environments.
• Extensive expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, hybrid architectures).
• Strong knowledge of security architecture frameworks (NIST, ISO, CIS, etc.).
• In-depth expertise across application, infrastructure, identity, and data security domains.
• Demonstrated experience in advancing modern engineering practices (cloud-native, DevSecOps, automation, API-driven architectures).
• Familiarity with AI/ML security considerations, data protection, and emerging technology risk management.
• Strong executive presence with the capability to influence senior leaders and foster alignment across a matrixed organization.
• Experience working in globally distributed environments with both internal and external partners.
• A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCSP are preferred.
• For remote work, a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service with at least 10Mbps download and 5Mbps upload is required.
