This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and manage the integrated Construction and Manufacturing Practices as a unified business unit.
• Oversee practice-specific client portfolio results, focusing on retention, satisfaction, NPS, and growth.
• Act as the escalation point for complex or at-risk client situations that exceed the CFO level.
• Establish quality benchmarks for construction financial advisory services, encompassing job costing, WIP, AIA billing, bonding assistance, and cash-flow forecasting.
• Define quality benchmarks for manufacturing financial advisory services, including cost accounting, inventory management, ERP integration, and variance analysis.
• Propel service expansion through CFOs while outlining ideal client profiles.
• Secure qualified construction and manufacturing opportunities identified by Business Development.
• Provide workbook analysis and facilitate Value Workshops.
• Forge strategic partnerships within the construction and manufacturing sectors.
• Recruit, develop, retain, and ensure accountability of CFOs across both practices.
• Manage capacity across both practices and develop career progression pathways.
• Oversee the combined P&L, revenue, expenses, profitability, budget, and practice planning.
• Report on practice performance to the EVP of Operations using EOS tools such as Scorecard, Rocks, and L10 meetings.
• Drive process enhancements and monitor the path towards potentially separating the practices.
• Establish external thought leadership and referral partnerships in both industries.
• Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, ERP trends, and market developments.
• Advocate for technology standards and identify new service lines or delivery methods.
• Complete time tracking, capacity planning, quarterly Rocks, participation as a Brand Ambassador, and fulfill security responsibilities.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• CPA is highly preferred.
• 12–15+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial leadership roles.
• Ideally, experience in construction, manufacturing, or both industries.
• Proven history of Leadership, Management, and Accountability (LMA).
• Ability to operate effectively across two industries simultaneously.
• In-depth expertise in either construction finance or manufacturing finance, along with a working understanding of the other.
• Construction expertise may encompass job cost accounting, WIP management, percentage-of-completion, and bonding/construction contract finance.
• Manufacturing expertise may include cost accounting, standard costing, inventory management, and ERP-related manufacturing financial strategy.
• Demonstrated experience managing client portfolios and achieving practice-level business outcomes.
• P&L ownership or experience in business unit management is strongly preferred.
• Established presence or network in the nonprofit sector with credibility to represent AIOA externally.
• Executive-level communication skills with nonprofit leaders, boards, and external advisors.
• Experience with or strong familiarity with EOS preferred.
• Internal AIOA CFO candidates may be considered if they are prepared for practice leadership.
