This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and execute All In’s communications strategy by setting goals, identifying target audiences, and determining tactics to achieve both domestic and international outcomes, which may encompass both climate-focused and non-climate-focused demographics.
• Enhance All In’s voice and tone across various platforms through polling and research, and pinpoint surrogates capable of conveying those messages effectively.
• Implement communication plans for significant public events and international climate initiatives, including New York Climate Week and the Conference of the Parties (COP).
• Establish communication protocols and processes for All In, acknowledging the diverse needs and dynamics of partners.
• Collaborate closely with All In’s PR firm to manage a media relations strategy, cultivate and strengthen relationships with reporters, and identify and pitch stories that promote and elevate subnational climate leadership.
• Deploy key messengers and coordinate with partners during urgent response situations to support All In and its affiliates.
• Oversee All In’s digital media presence and strategy, including social media, website management, and newsletters.
• Develop and implement a content strategy during critical domestic and international climate events, collaborating with co-chairs, partners, content creators, and other stakeholders.
• Review and draft press releases, op-eds, statements, talking points, speeches, and social media content for All In and its coalition partners when necessary.
• Drive content strategy related to research reports and analyses.
• Work in close partnership with All In partners and their communications teams to forge mutually beneficial collaborations and support.
• Identify overarching trends and needs, coordinate with allied efforts, and integrate resources and initiatives to enhance outreach and address gaps.
• Address and resolve conflicts between partners, with assistance from the Executive Director and other senior leaders at All In.
• Collaborate with the current All In Chair and Co-chairs to create opportunities that elevate their leadership and align it with All In’s objectives.
• Assist in briefings, convenings, and training sessions for partners.
• Build and manage a small team.
• Oversee contracted consultants, vendors, partners, and their respective teams.
• Develop systems, processes, and workflows for a new team and communication operation.
• Partner with vendors and contractors to perform media monitoring, trend analysis, and audience development tracking.
• Work alongside All In’s communications, domestic, and research functions to ensure coherent and coordinated messaging and programming.
• Participate as a member of All In’s senior leadership team, contributing to and implementing All In’s broader strategy and mission.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience, with a focus on communications or marketing.
• Experience working directly with elected officials and staff from state or local government.
• A passion for storytelling related to clean energy and climate solutions.
• Experience in managing creative teams and providing creative direction.
• Proven ability to navigate complex partnerships, foster collaboration, build consensus across diverse perspectives, and drive towards actionable outcomes.
• Experience engaging with stakeholders involved in policy, advocacy, or the private sector is highly preferred.
• A demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to formulate plans and adapt tactics as conditions evolve.
• A willingness to be adaptable in a start-up environment with a small team.
• International communications experience is highly preferred.
