This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop the annual and multi-year strategy for generating new corporate revenue, encompassing objectives, target sectors, and prospect lists.
• Establish and uphold business development infrastructure, KPIs, and workflow processes.
• Discover, qualify, nurture, solicit, and secure new national corporate partners.
• Oversee six- and seven-figure corporate partnership opportunities.
• Act as a strategist, relationship manager, and external representative to potential corporate funders.
• Manage a portfolio of high-priority prospects from qualification through to closure.
• Facilitate the transition of newly secured partners to the Account Management sub-team.
• Collaborate with regional fundraising teams, national colleagues, board members, senior leaders, and program teams.
• Lead cross-functional project management to fulfill partnership commitments.
• Investigate and responsibly implement AI tools for prospect research, pipeline management, proposal development, and workflows.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a direct report to achieve revenue targets.
• Foster an equitable and inclusive culture within the Business Development sub-team.
• Monitor pipeline progress and revenue forecasts using Salesforce and other reporting tools.
• Prepare for cultivation and solicitation meetings, pitch decks, partnership proposals, and materials for donors.
• Represent Teach For America at external gatherings, industry events, and executive briefings.
• Engage in special projects and leadership opportunities at the organization level.
• Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
• Capacity to establish and manage a high-performing corporate business development function.
• Proficient understanding of corporate philanthropy, corporate social responsibility, and/or corporate partnerships.
• Strong strategic acumen with the ability to pursue high-value opportunities.
• Experience in senior-level relationship management with C-suite executives and leaders of corporate foundations.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities, including proposal writing, executive briefings, and pitch presentations.
• Strong project and pipeline management skills throughout lengthy sales cycles.
• Excellent people management capabilities with a focus on developing direct reports.
• Deep commitment to the mission, values, and principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusiveness at Teach For America.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Salesforce is required.
• A curious, fluent, critical thinker with ethical considerations regarding emerging technologies, including AI tools.
• Minimum of 7 years in fundraising, business development, or strategic partnerships with a solid history of securing six- and seven-figure gifts or deals (preferred).
• Prior management experience is preferred.
• Experience in education-sector or mission-driven nonprofit fundraising is preferred.
• Familiarity with complex national organizations and matrixed local and central teams is preferred.
• CFRE certification, MBA, or another advanced degree is preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 3–4 times per quarter.
• Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
• Exceptional client service orientation and commitment to follow-through.
• Ability to be entrepreneurial and adaptable in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
• Capacity to influence outcomes without direct authority.
• Prior experience incorporating AI tools into fundraising, sales, communications, research, or knowledge-management workflows.
• Remote/Home Office work arrangement.
