This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia.
• Oversee and develop 6–8 senior leaders as a true manager-of-managers, providing coaching, enhancing their leadership skills, and maintaining a high-performance standard with empathy.
• Foster a culture that emphasizes trust and high energy, blending rigor and urgency with the morale and momentum essential for demanding work.
• Take ownership of execution across Blueprint's programs, including key initiatives like Project AIR, translating the overarching goals into ambitious, measurable objectives.
• Make and take responsibility for difficult decisions—evaluating trade-offs, identifying risks early, and ensuring projects reach completion.
• Direct the communications strategy, guaranteeing that Blueprint's efforts are communicated effectively to funders, partners, policymakers, and the public.
• Oversee the government affairs function, maintaining the policy momentum that influences funding and deployment for pandemic preparedness.
• Enhance the capacity of the Executive Director by representing Blueprint externally with funding partners, research institutions, and government stakeholders.

• Over 10 years of leadership experience, demonstrating a successful track record of building and leading high-performing teams towards ambitious goals.
• Proven experience in people management—having managed other managers and intentionally cultivated a healthy, high-trust team culture.
• A history of translating strategic plans into actionable execution and complex initiatives into scalable outcomes.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills across scientific, policy, and implementation audiences, with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• *Nice to have:* familiarity with biosecurity, public health, or pandemic preparedness (or a demonstrated ability to quickly learn in a technical field); experience in nonprofits, startups, or other high-growth, high-ambiguity settings.
