Managing Consultant – Quality – Surgery Improvement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Act as a subject matter authority on hospital quality, patient safety, and evidence-based clinical practice engagements.

• Examine and interpret clinical quality data from platforms such as CMS Care Compare, NHSN, QNet, and internal hospital systems to pinpoint performance deficiencies.

• Develop and execute client work plans that tackle issues including infection prevention, sepsis management, surgical quality, complications, mortality, and readmissions.

• Assist hospitals in enhancing their performance on national quality scorecards, including CMS Care Compare and other public reporting initiatives.

• Convert complex data into practical insights for hospital executives and frontline staff.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5-7 years of experience in acute care quality, hospital regulatory reporting, infection prevention, and/or hospital performance enhancement.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Health Information Management, or a related field is required.

• An advanced degree (MPH, MHA, MSN, MBA, or similar) is preferred but not mandatory.

• Professional certifications such as CPHQ, CIC, or Lean/Six Sigma are highly preferred.

• Proven knowledge of CMS public reporting programs, NHSN surveillance, and QNet/QualityNet data submission is preferred.

• An experienced hospital quality leader with expertise in preoperative clinic workflows, surgical operations, OR supply chain management, and OR culture development.

• Exceptional analytical skills with the capability to interpret intricate quality and regulatory data.
