This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Technology Strategy & Innovation Leadership: play a pivotal role in shaping a comprehensive technology scouting and innovation strategy that aligns with corporate and team objectives.
• Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis: Track global technology trends, innovation ecosystems, and competitor activities. Provide valuable insights on technology evolution, market dynamics, and strategic positioning. Synthesize intelligence into actionable outputs for leadership, including opportunity framing and risk assessments.
• Technology Identification, Evaluation and Maturation: Discover and evaluate emerging technologies, startups, academic research, and industry advancements.
• Partnerships, Transactions and Ecosystem Development: Forge strategic partnerships with external entities, such as startups, universities, national laboratories, and technology accelerators.
• Cross-Functional Execution & Delivery: Work collaboratively with the strategic roadmaps team, engineering, R&D, and digital teams to identify customer requirements and technology gaps. Aid in aligning internal capabilities ('technology bricks') with business opportunities.
• Funding Strategy & Policy Agreement: Identify and secure external funding sources (both governmental and private) to expedite technology maturation.
• Financial, Commercial & Decision Support: Assist in business case development, including financial modeling, valuation inputs, and cost-benefit and return on investment analysis. Contribute to investment decisions, including make-vs-buy, partnership, or acquisition pathways.
• Executive Communication & Influence: Present clear, structured recommendations to leadership through memos, business opportunity assessments, technology monitoring, and investment proposals.
• Degree in a nuclear-related discipline (e.g., nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, physics, or similar), preferably with advanced degrees or a research background.
• Over 5 years of post-educational experience in technology scouting, product development, innovation management, engineering, strategy, or technology commercialization within the energy sector or related fields.
• Familiarity with the latest technologies and applications of nuclear energy.
