This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee and enhance a small, senior team by providing coaching on live transactions, fostering judgment and technical expertise, and recruiting individuals who enhance the team's capabilities rather than merely increasing its size.
• Establish and maintain high standards for enterprise discovery, technical assessments, and effective rollouts that significantly influence new customer acquisition and growth.
• Collaborate closely with Sales as a credible technical partner on intricate enterprise opportunities, assisting in shaping deal strategies, architecture, and the quality of execution.
• Work across Tailscale to enhance our approach to running proofs of concept, articulating technical value, and translating genuine customer feedback into product direction.
• Deliver clear, actionable insights to Product and Engineering based on real customer use cases and enterprise limitations, avoiding hypothetical scenarios.
• Keep abreast of trends in cloud computing, DevOps, networking, and security, while aiding the team in refining both technical instincts and communication abilities.
• Proven experience in leading teams, preferably as a working manager who enjoys engaging with details.
• Background in a technical, enterprise-facing role such as Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, or a related position.
• Strong, confident, and assertive communication skills—you can simplify complex systems, gauge the atmosphere, and convey a message without excessive elaboration.
• Comprehensive understanding of networking and security principles, including cloud environments like AWS VPCs and Azure virtual networks.
• Practical technical experience with developer tools, DevOps practices, and contemporary cloud architectures (CI/CD, infrastructure, APIs).
• Capacity to articulate Tailscale’s value in your own terms, anchored in customer results and technical trade-offs rather than promotional jargon.
