Manager, Software Engineering – Card Platform

📋 Description

• Lead a high-performing backend engineering team specializing in Kotlin and Python.

• Collaborate with Product, Analytics, Design, Operations, and various engineering teams to create a technical roadmap that addresses customer and business requirements.

• Mentor, develop, retain, and offer constructive feedback to team members.

• Maintain a high technical standard with a focus on sustainability and simplicity.

• Cultivate a team culture centered on innovation, accountability, empathy, and execution.

• Work in partnership with other engineering leaders throughout Affirm.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of engineering experience, including more than 3 years in engineering management or leadership roles.

• A passion for transforming consumer financial services for the better.

• Proven success in architecting, building, launching, and scaling financial products.

• Demonstrated ability to nurture and scale a high-performing engineering team.

• Excellent cross-team communication and collaboration abilities.

• Strong analytical skills, an innovative mindset, a commitment to product excellence, and the capacity to act swiftly.

• Experience with card networks is an advantage.

• This role requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
