This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Lead and expand an engineering team that delivers essential software solutions to dental practices and their patients.
• Directly manage a diverse team of engineers (both onshore and nearshore) while influencing engineering practices, technical execution, and overall outcomes across the organization.
• Enhance clarity, accountability, and alignment by effectively communicating goals, priorities, and status updates to team members and stakeholders.
• Assist in hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and career development to attract and retain top engineering talent.
• Establish and maintain standards for software engineering, analysis, quality assurance, and project delivery.
• Cultivate a culture of ownership, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Product and UX teams to provide customer-focused solutions that align with strategic goals.
• Oversee and manage project scope, forecasts, risks, and budgets.
• Advocate for mature DevOps practices, continuous integration/deployment, and test-driven development.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
• Over 7 years of progressive software development experience with our technology stack, including at least 1 year in a people management role.
• Demonstrated success in leading distributed or hybrid engineering teams at scale.
• Strong familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including Agile methodologies and CI/CD practices.
• Ability to lead by influence, resolve conflicts, and build consensus across various functions.
• Clear and empathetic communicator who excels in collaborative environments.
• Analytical and strategic thinker capable of balancing technical debt, innovation, and delivery.
