• Lead the design, development, and operation of Availity’s essential data platforms and services.
• Oversee a team dedicated to building foundational data infrastructure that ensures reliable, secure, and scalable data ingestion, storage, processing, and access throughout the organization.
• Manage all facets of the software development lifecycle for core data infrastructure, which includes architecture, design, implementation, deployment, and ongoing enhancement of platform services and tools.
• Collaborate closely with product, application engineering, information management, and analytics teams to ensure the platform aligns with current and future business objectives.
• Convert business and platform requirements into technical designs, establish engineering standards, and ensure disciplined execution.
• Anticipate and assess emerging technologies, evaluate their effects on reliability, scalability, cost, and security, and steer the team’s technical direction accordingly.
• Be responsible for delivering high-quality, well-operationalized systems while efficiently managing team capacity, priorities, and technical risks.
• Act as a primary liaison between the data infrastructure team and cross-functional stakeholders, including engineering, product management, security, and operations.
• Operate effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, balancing strategic platform evolution with daily operations.
• Cultivate strong engineering practices and promote a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Over 8 years of experience in software engineering, including building and managing production systems.
• More than 5 years of experience in managing engineering teams and working efficiently across organizational boundaries.
• In-depth understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Experience in designing, building, and operating data infrastructure components such as pipelines, storage systems, APIs, and platform services.
• Proven track record of leading complex technical initiatives and making informed architectural decisions.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts and decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
