This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +12 more states.
• Take full responsibility for the software delivery process managed by the POD, ensuring that releases are timely and align with established business requirements and quality benchmarks.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to establish priorities, clarify specifications, and ensure that deliverables are in line with strategic goals.
• Track progress against commitments, proactively managing risks, dependencies, and resource limitations.
• Guarantee that the solutions are scalable, secure, and dependable by utilizing best practices, design patterns, and architectural standards.
• Lead, mentor, and motivate the POD team, cultivating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement through experimentation and learning.
• Oversee staffing responsibilities, which include recruitment, performance management, and professional development for both direct and indirect reports.
• Promote the use of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps methodologies, and automated testing to ensure high-quality releases.
• Offer technical coaching and professional growth opportunities for team members to enhance their skills, knowledge, and career advancement.
• Act as the main point of contact between the POD and business stakeholders during escalations from the product owner or team.
• Actively collaborate with other development managers to address cross-team dependencies and ensure alignment with the enterprise technology strategy.
• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience is mandatory.
• Over 8 years of progressive experience in software development, demonstrating a successful track record of increasing responsibilities and leading solution development across various technologies (e.g., full-stack, cloud-based, ETL) is required.
• Prior experience in a leadership role, such as managing projects or products, coaching, mentoring, or guiding software development teams is necessary.
• Strong knowledge of software development methodologies (particularly agile/Scrum), programming languages, and frameworks is required.
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is essential.
• Familiarity with cloud-first, API-first, and microservice architectures or strategies (preferably with any primary public cloud provider, especially AWS) is required.
• Experience with .Net/C#, Python, and React is preferred.
• Background in the PBM industry is advantageous.
