This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.
• Oversee the daily operations and performance of net revenue accounting processes and procedures.
• Manage the inputs, assumptions, and outputs of the Kodiak RCA net revenue valuation tool.
• Collaborate with Revenue Cycle, Finance, Payer Contracting, and Kodiak to ensure the accuracy and completeness of revenue valuation.
• Supervise the net revenue department during month-end close and prepare or review balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Prepare and assist with monthly net revenue reporting for regional finance teams.
• Guarantee that net revenue figures are accurately reported each month in coordination with accounting managers.
• Prepare or review month-end journal entries prior to posting and analyze variances against forecasts, trends, and plans.
• Ensure analysts adhere to month-end procedures, timelines, and quality standards.
• Mentor analysts to deliver precise and timely results.
• Work together with reimbursement, revenue cycle, and regional finance teams on net revenue forecasts and plans.
• Engage in operational and capital budgeting for hospitals and medical groups.
• Manage staffing and scheduling to achieve objectives while fostering flexibility and cross-training.
• Communicate updates from the department, organizational activities, financial performance, educational opportunities, and interdepartmental initiatives.
• Support enterprise net revenue initiatives through in-depth analysis and implementation.
• Identify and execute process enhancements within net revenue accounting workflows.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited institution; education will be verified.
• Progressive leadership experience in managing healthcare net revenue accounting functions across multiple locations with escalating responsibilities in complex revenue cycle operations.
• Familiarity with revenue cycle processes and compliance with state and federal regulations, including billing, charging, and price transparency.
• Understanding the effects of revenue cycle processes and requirements on net revenue.
• Experience in conducting accounts receivable valuation assessments, analyzing net revenue and reserve results, identifying valuation factors, and proposing reporting and operational improvements.
• Proficient in using the Kodiak RCA Tool.
• Experience with SQL-based data analysis.
• Knowledge of analytical methods for assessing valuation outcomes, validating data integrity, and investigating data, process, or system-related issues.
• Familiarity with U.S. GAAP.
• Knowledge of accounting and financial systems, monthly closing processes, execution of processes, problem-solving, and process enhancement.
• Preferred: Licensed Certified Public Accountant.
• Preferred: Understanding of coding classification systems such as ICD-10-CM, ICD-9-CM, MS-DRG, CPT-4, APR-DRG, and HCC.
• Ability to interpret upstream operational activities and collaborate with subject matter experts for accurate financial reporting.
• Must adhere to relevant Intermountain policies and expectations, including remote work confidentiality, information security, scheduling, conflicts of interest, and equipment requirements.
• Candidates residing or intending to reside in California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, or Washington are currently not eligible; Colorado remote caregivers are excluded if their designated facility or service area is not based in Colorado.
